M - Bernard Lee

Bond has a particularly strained relationship with his superior during the early stages of the mission. M admonishes his top agent for failing to carry out orders to observe Goldfinger's actions discreetly in Miami Beach. Later, M orders Bond to join him for dinner with Colonel Smithers of the Bank of England. Bond exacts a small measure of revenge against M during the course of the meal by showing off his superior knowledge of brandy.
