Spectre

The Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion is a secret organization headed by mankind's greatest criminals. The group's founder, evil genius Ernst Stavro Blofeld, has ambitious goals to blackmail major political powers into paying exorbitant sums to avert worldwide catastrophes. SPECTRE is largely apolitical. However, in the days of the Cold War, there were alliances with Communist nations who would pay Blofeld to wreak havoc on the free world.

There are many benefits in working for SPECTRE. You get to work with glamorous and equally sinister men and women, travel the world on large expense accounts and find an equal opportunity environment which welcomes people of all races and tolerate those with handicaps. For example, Dr. No had metallic hands and Largo was blind in one eye. However, there are a few drawbacks. The 'retirement' plan is rather dubious. Inevitably, agents end up falling victim to James Bond or being dealt with harshly by Blofeld, who may opt to send them for a dip in his piranha pool.
