Bond's main mode of transport in his pre-Aston Martin days was his famed Bentley. However, as virtually all of the action in 'Dr. No' takes place in Jamaica, not even 007's liberal expense account was ample enough to ship his car to the island from London. Therefore, he drives a Sunbeam convertible, which has enough speed for him to outrace the villains. By swerving under a construction crane, Bond causes the perusing hearse carrying 'The Three Blind Mice' assassins to veer off the road to an explosive death at the bottom of a ravine. The blue Sunbeam, a small British sports car, was actually hired by the production company from a local woman who was paid fifteen shillings per day.
