Attaché case
This
'nasty little Christmas present', as Bond describes it, represents his first
state of the art gadget from Q. Issued as standard field equipment to all 'Double-0'
agents, the leather case contained a number of unorthodox items: a magnetised
tin of talcum powder concealing a tear gas cartridge, a hidden knife, fifty
gold sovereigns and ample room to contain a folding sniper's rifle. The case
had unique locks, which had to be turned horizontally prior to opening. Failure
to do so would result in the tear gas bomb exploding. The case, which saves
Bond's life in his battle with Red Grant, remains intact in the archives of
Eon Productions in London and Desmond Llewelyn often takes it on publicity tours.
