M's office has an abundance of charm as Moneypenny introduces Bond to her lovely younger assistant Miss Smallbone - a sequence that provides some good laughs as Bond pretends he is not distracted by the new girl's beauty. The role of Miss Smallbone was obviously meant to be a possible replacement for Moneypenny, but the character never appeared again. She was played by the daughter of author James Clavell.
